Research Interests

Primary cilia, Kidney, Epithelium, Cell biology, Mechanobiology

I investigate how primary cilia function as sensory organelles in kidney epithelial cells, with a focus on how their length and polarity are regulated by inflammatory signals, mechanical forces, and pharmacological compounds.

My work combines advanced in vitro models, including CRIPSR human kidney epithelial cell lines, to study cilia-associated phenotypes relevant to disease. I use high-resolution imaging techniques such as confocal microscopy and live-cell calcium imaging, alongside quantitative image analysis to assess cilia structure and function.

I am also developing organ-on-chip models to better replicate physiological conditions and study how mechanical cues, such as fluid shear stress, influence cilia-mediated signalling and epithelial cell behaviour.
